Support

Most answers are built into the app: open Help (⌘?) for live checks with buttons that fix things. If you're still stuck, email support@taptotalkie.com.

Tip: in Help, click Copy diagnostics and paste it into your email. It includes your Mac model, macOS and app versions and settings, but never your audio, your text or your keys.

Common fixes

It says the microphone is off, but I turned it on

Click Repair permissions in Help or Settings → General. It clears Tap to Talkie's own permission entries, reopens the app and walks you through allowing the microphone again. When macOS asks, click Allow.

Holding the key does nothing

Tap to Talkie needs Input Monitoring to notice your key from any app. Help → Fix a problem opens the right setting. After switching it on, use Relaunch. macOS often applies it only after a relaunch.

The text is copied but not pasted

Pasting needs Accessibility permission. Without it, the app copies the text and shows "Copied — press ⌘V". Turn it on from Help → Fix a problem.

It's slow on my Mac

Pick a smaller speech model in Settings → Models. Intel Macs and Macs with 8 GB of memory do best with the Base model.

A word keeps coming out wrong

Add it to your Dictionary in Settings. Names, brands and trade words are spelled your way every time.

Moving to a new Mac

On the old Mac, open Settings → License and click Deactivate This Mac. Then enter your key on the new Mac.

Uninstalling

Quit Tap to Talkie and drag it from Applications to the Trash. To remove its data too, delete ~/Library/Application Support/Tap to Talkie.
